Hi Jw Daughter! My you are on a roll! I know I put it on a thread where a mom was looking to help a college daughter get organized and on track with her studies. Isn't it great? I'm glad I was able to post it. I am trying to get with the program! The ideas stick in your head and the motivation and encouragement is great! This was our first christmas and I tried to use her Christmas journal to keep on top of the season and everything went so smoothly! Glad to meet a fellow flybaby!

with the recent birth of a jw sextuplet "litter" .

possible need for blood transfusions clashes with jehovah's witness belief.
I am a parent as many here are. If I had the worry of my babies dying, knowing I couldn't "officially" okay a transfusion and was scared of displeasing God but not fully in agreement with the Watchtower stand on blood, I would secretly hope the courts would get involved, give what was needed and I would appear as having my hands tied. I would want the court order started as soon as possible and not fight it at all. I really think I would have privately asked the doctor to hurry and acquire it. I know I always thought that way myself. "Theocratic warfare"? Hopefully, it will be there if or when these babies need it. God help them all.

i'm sure there are many........... what happen in my family was crazy......... glendora califorina 1961.my mother wanted to change khs, it had a "bad spirit" there.
there was also a mass exodus from the hall.
she wanted to go to the azusa cong.
I know someone who is bi-polar. A very psychologically delicate man. His family (parents, siblings) treat him almost childlike, for fear of upsetting him. He is very nice, but emotionally unstable. Anyway, he was in one of the low moods and feeling suicidal. He parked his car on the railroad tracks but was somehow spared when the train hit. He was disfellowshipped for attempting suicide. No one to come help him. No one to validate his being here. Everyone turned their backs on him except his parents. Thankfully, they could see his need and help him. He is on medication and is reinstated.
It broke my heart when his sister told me. Can you imagine being so worried about your brother and his mental and physical health, yet scared God would kill you for trying to help someone feel God's love? Such a twisted religion.

why does the society hate smoking so much?
because it is "defiling" the body?
if that is the case, what about drinking coffee, or over-eating?
I've thought of that too. I think there was a trans fat issue with Oreo's that made me think about it. What if Oreo's or chocolate was a sin? I would die. I am heavily addicted and there is no chocolate patch out! If there was, we'd probably try to lick it and see if it tastes like chocolate! LOL
I agree that many would be out of the organization or living a "double(stuff) life".
Remember how many times we were told "bodily training is beneficial for little but godly training is beneficial for much". That scripture was used to guilt us out of excercising and into the ministry. I am just now enjoying sports and hopefully will reap the health benefits from them. I am so sad about that. Now they realize that fat unhealthy people don't have as much energy to go in the ministry and do all they want them to. I've noticed in the past 5 years or so the Watchtower or Awake finally has been promoting moderate excercise to keep health in check.

did you think it was a "show", when just about everyone showed up at the kingdom hall when he showed up that week?.
did you go out in the service that week more than usual, just to do like the others who were giving a show?.
the moment the co's week was over, the attendance always came back down to normal..
I always thought it ridiculous how everyone acted as if he was a great king that we should be in fear of and kiss his feet! Like mentioned, I would say to others when they were nervous, "He's just a man". Got some funny looks for that one!!!!
There were a couple of them I truly loved to go and see and hear their talks when they visited. They were really more family and love oriented. The rest were arrogant and opinionated. Couldn't stand them.
I hated that they expected the friends to rearrange their schedules and work to fit their schedule. It was their JOB to serve and cater to the friends needs. Such man worship. The elders were always sweating up a storm and so touchy and worried about everything. I used to be in awe and scared of them when I was little because of the buzz gererated in the congregation. But once I was older---forget it. I hated the show.

when your jw family member tells you it would have been so much better if you had just faded instead of daing yourself.
that to them daing yourself is much worse then dfing yourself.
if only you had hung in there and faded they would treat you as family but now it tears at them that they can't talk to you.
Fading doesn't necessarily make it easier. I haven't been disfellowshipped or disassociated myself, but because I celebrate holidays and birthdays now, my mother and sister (the only jws in family) have both told me they can no longer speak to me. Their decision due to the constant brainwashing of not talking to anyone who doesn't agree with the Society after baptism. Remember the marking talks that were given to advise us to beware of associating with those who might jeapordize our spirituality?
I am sorry for you. Don't let the guilt trips make you doubt yourself or your decisions. You have a right to make your own choices without being manipulated. ((((((Hugs))))))))

i have always had a problem with this from the scriptures, i understand the old law and replacing the passover but those laws did not apply to the new covenant and my question centers around pauls words to the 1 cor 11.
1 cor 11:17-20 .
17but, while giving these instructions, i do not commend you because it is, not for the better, but for the worse that you meet together.18for first of all, when you come together in a congregation, i hear divisions exist among you; and in some measure i believe it.19for there must also be sects among you, that the persons approved may also become manifest among you.
This has been very interesting for me to read your comments everyone! I have really enjoyed it and have gotten a few new ideas on the subject that I have never thought of before! I especially was intriged by the comment of "not eating with such a man" connected to this and the love feasts. It was a great you all posted such thoughtful insights.Thank you for sharing.

i will see if i can pay attention.
after reading a review of some of the stuff said, i may have to even take notes!
(for my own reasons , of course).
Forget the chewing gum! You're going to need some Peptobismal or Tums! And a gag to restrain you from yelling at the speaker as they spew their venemous ideas! Augh!!! The torture! Hope your tongue heals quickly after you have to go around biting it all weekend!
My deepest sympathies I don't think I could control myself after just about exploding at the last 2 I attended! I couldn't run out of there fast enough!!!!!

ok, i'm a perpetual mom.
my 24 yoa daughter has been back in college and did ok this past semester.
but not what she is capable of, grade-wise.
Here's how to find the control journal. I guess it's aimed more at middle schoolers or high schoolers, but should help her be able to set priorities and focus better. I wish I would have had an organization system sooner! I hope you like it.
Click on the "table of contents" on left side of page. Then go to the FlyZone box and click on Flylady's control journals. This will take you to the point where you can click on the student journal.
